The exam prepares you for various job roles such as Web Masters, Graphic Designers, Server Administrators. As the name suggests it is a  foundation exam and is created to  validates your basic knowledge for Internet technologies. The exam also tests how to  design and implement Website and Web-based solutions using HTML technology.

Information about the exam
This exam is retired now and new CIW foundation test 1D0-510 has replaced this exam. However CIW v4 Associate Certification is still eligible for higher level certifications.
  
 Exam topics
The exam is divided into three broad topics.

• Internet Fundamentals; containing 24 questions.
• Web page Authoring Fundamentals; containing 12 questions.
• Networking Fundamentals; containing 24 questions.

  The exam consists of total 60 questions. All the questions are multiple choice and should  correctly answer at least 45questions (75%) within 90 minutes to pass the test. Also, you should confirm the latest exam details by visiting the CIW website or from the exam testing center, because these requirements can be changed.
